Grandparents are one thing in life that you care deeply about,
Sometimes it gets me thinking what would I do without
Their cute little smiles just lift you out of the blues,
Considering the life span they have, there is simply nothing to lose.
Although they are old and shaky now this wasn’t always the case,
They were once youthful and wild a full life they’ve embraced.
Maybe it was meeting up with friend or cutting up the dance floor,
Unfortunately, in some cases they were torn apart by war.
We all know that every one’s grandparent has their own little tradition,
If it was sneaking the kids a chocolate without mum knowing, being the top mission.
My grandparents are one of a kind, oh the uniqueness they are in possession of,
They go to bed at eight and wake up at four, that’s what I love.
Some grandparents have strict rules for you to play by,
Like take your shoes of before carpet meets the eye.
The evolution of life has given them a flight of stairs,
To walk up and find their way, to be matched with perfect pairs.
Grandparents are amazing, they are our elderly role models,
They help us look at the world with our gratitude goggles.
Forever we shall respect the grandies, for all that they have done,
No matter what age or even how short, they will still be considered number one.
